Nilor

Nilor is a figurative painter based in Toronto, born in Tehran, Iran.

From an early stage in her life, she found solitude and clarity through drawing and painting—often choosing silence and observation over noise and distraction.

Her work is deeply rooted in the human experience. Faces and figures become vessels through which inner states, emotional fractures, and unspoken tensions are revealed. Rather than idealized narratives, her paintings reflect the realities of vulnerability, restraint, and the quiet struggles that shape everyday life.

Through a restrained palette, layered textures, and expressive brushwork, Niloofar translates lived experience into moments of stillness. Her work does not seek resolution, but recognition—inviting the viewer to pause, feel, and encounter the human presence beneath the surface.

This piece is a fusion of rich oil color and delicate ink work on canvas, blending texture and fluidity in a deeply expressive composition. The contrast between the bold strokes of oil and the fine, spontaneous lines of ink creates a dynamic interplay between structure and movement. Each layer invites the viewer to pause, reflect, and feel.
